My day is ruined and now I hate Richard more than ever T_T.

From the beginning till now, I can't tell if Richard is either a fool or dense. His despair is because of him being born with the body of what people proclaimed as a demon's body. But, has he ever notice there are people who truly love him. He still has Catesby, Anne and Lil' Edward left... I hope it isn't too late when he realizes it.

And I hope that he will soon realizes it the crown is nothing but a curse/burden to his life. Achieving it is meaningless if he wished to make his dead father proud.

George learnt that wealth is nothing because you can't buy life with it, but there is someone who you shares your love with will wait for you in the afterlife.

King Edward of York learnt that such power will only bring in political conflict and destroy the relationship between him and his family due to what a king must do.

I've seen some spoilers and I'm just in disgust and hate with Richard now, but just like you said I hope he wakes up to reality soon, cause the way this is going it's gonna be another Platinum end and I'll have to watch with anger each episode lol.

For me, each episode I watch it with seeing Richard look like a hopeless person and feel sad for Anne and her son.

I swear.... I'm surprised at myself for lasting this long with this show when I'll usually stop watching after 3 eps LOL. It feels like you're watching a terrible historical soap drama that continues to be horrible but you can't seem to stop yourself from watching the next episode lol

Disclaimer: I guess I can't help myself since I'm majoring in English Literature and its intriguing to me how it's different from the original Shakespeare works lol

I did warn audiences in the comments of earlier episodes that Richard will just be "fodder" to Buckingham who will get him pregnant. It's quite disappointing that amvs of this anime seem to indirectly sell this anime as a BL when it's tagged as "shoujo." The author bastardized the original Shakespearean play (I took Shakespeare in college and my professor was a critic of his historical plays one of which Richard II.) Richard seemed to have taken Henry's implied rejection of sexual relationships to heart and went for any guy who'd give him/her affection even if it was superficial. The author turned Richard's "identity crisis" into a superficial quest for a lover who'd be desperate enough to bed a hermaphrodite (maybe by identifying the p*nis for futan*ri). In any case this fiction is an utter failure when it comes to portraying gender dysphoria- a topic which is controversial and lacks decent representation in mainstream media to begin with.

Frankly I can't decide whether this is worse than Sabikui Bisco in baiting those who have been looking for a positive portrayal of homosexuality in non-BL fiction. Japanese anime has sort of warped sensibilities of anime fans, in fact, in inventing a genre called BL- because that genre is the same as ROMANCE- but in Japan romance is "exclusively" heterosexual. It's no wonder that despite progressive developments in many societies, most anime fans can't accept homosexual relations outside of romance so that those wishing to write fantasy-historical themes have to settle with "heterosexualized" heroes and protags just to justify the use of homosexual characters. The result is that we have pseudo-BL stories like Sabikui Bisco and Baraou no Souretsu, which would be shrugged off these days as nothing more than "fujoshi baits" even if they could have been better narratives- had they not been equally paranoid of "hate" coming from "offended" homophobic audiences.

Like I always say- HOMOPHOBIA WARPS CREATIVITY.

I found your points very interesting. I'm not sure if I fully understand what you're saying though. I have always seen BL as romance, and I think that there are many BL anime which represent the romantic side of LGBTQ relationships. For me the name 'boys love' is better than 'gay love' in that it doesn't include any homophobic undertones. What I will agree with is that there are people who fetishize it. For me BL began my journey to better understand homosexual relationships and the issues inherent to them. I then moved to listening to real people talking about real issues to get a more realistic understanding. I will fully admit that BL is a romanticised version of relationships, just as Disney romanticizes heterosexual relationships... at the end of the day anime is created more for entertainment than education.
As to gender dysphoria, thats a pretty heavy topic. I'm sure it would need people with great empathy and wisdom to sensitively tell stories based around it. To be certain I'd prefer an anime that solely deal with the topic in order to give it the gravitas it deserves... not in a story that is already rife with political intrigue. I think this anime simply focusses on political shenanigans.

Damn, so Buckingham set that all up so that he can confirm whether or not the truth about Richard's body was real and also use that to take advantage of the situation to sleep with him, plus since he surmised that his female parts had yet to be used, by being the one to take his virginity there he ends up being the person that "knows the only true Richard" according to his words.

I didn't expect Buckingham to compete with Catesby in that way and I feel bad that Catesby is kind of being pushed aside like this when we know how dear Richard is to him as he's been with him since he was a child and watching the flashbacks with Catesby reassuring him that he wasn't strange made it more painful. I can't even imagine the frustration Catesby felt when Buckingham suggested that he'd let Catesby watch until the end.

From this point on I want for either Richard to die (wich is very likely seeing the story of his family) or Catesby to die and be free from this horrible world ;-;, my day is ruined and my heart broken.

Catesby is like the only good nice guy here he's so loyal to Richard even though he knew Buckingham f*cks Richard 2x

Well, as you saw Catesby does have feelings for Richard, so partly your ship was confirmed, but as you also saw, Richard isn't worth such a good man as him. He will still be by his side though. But what comes after is gonna be huge and hard to swallow. So brace yourselves.

Which fun fact, in real history there were rumours of Anne and Beth having a scandalous lesbian affair XD)
The thing is that the manga hasn't gone further from the point everything is just so messed up it's crazy! So we don't know what comes next and the anime rushes its way there. So we even might have an original ending.

I kinda lost my interest after this reveal but then again reality do hit you hard sometimes lol, I'll stick till the end and probably go to the manga if the ending is different.

Yea I noticed. I hated this turn of events too. Buckingham's and Richard's relationship is very unhealthy and he drags Richard to the dark while Catesby and Anne would bring him to light. Which actually shows in the intro too for Catesby at least.

Edward is dead and so is George the brothers of Richard is all dead and now their kids is still alive. Edward has the spitting image of their dad and was the king and that was nice seeing Warwick and Edward going to that dark castle above while George just drowned into that wine

There aren't too many characters in this show that I don't hate. Most of them are terrible people with a few exceptions sprinkled into the mix. I keep dropping this and then, for some reason one day I'm like, "naw I gotta see what happens in this fuct up world they got goin' on."

I'm just rooting for Henry at this point. I'm really enjoying the show though, it's probably my AOTY so far.
